Lake Como - Lutz, Florida, USA
Lake Como is one of the premier nudist clubs in the United States and definitely caters to the ethical family naturist vibe without being out of touch from the rest of the world. It is a wonderful property and has every amenity you can think of: your typical campground and RV park with year-round residents as well as overnight guests, ball courts for everything imaginable (tennis, volleyball, pickleball, petanque, etc.), a 9-hole golf course and driving range (wow!), and nature trails that are truly wonderful to explore. The property also boasts a pool, hot tub, sauna, playground, a lake with paddle boats and kayaks available for borrowing on an honor system, and two different locations where you can purchase food and beverage (we're talking an actual kitchen with menus, servers, and made-to-order food). There is a small gift shop in the reception office as well—we highly recommend the Butt Hutt tanktops!
Lake Como is a great choice regardless of where you are at in your nudist journey. As mentioned, it is home to hundreds of residents (both seasonal and year-round), offers ample RV spots or tent pitches for the overnight traveler, and even has cabins and motel rooms for those that are looking for a less rustic hospitality experience. Lake Como is also the proud host of the Superbowl South volleyball tournament each year (we accidentally visited during one of the days!) that brings out some of the best contenders from around the country, as well as plenty of spectators for a wonderful communal gathering experience. Additionally, given its wide range of amenities and plentiful opportunities for tent camping, Lake Como is often home to the Florida Young Naturists Naked Bash gatherings that take place three times per year (Spring, Summer, Winter), as well as a plethora of other community and club-sponsored events.
All that said, there is a lot of competition in Pasco County, Florida (the self-proclaimed nudist capital of the world), but Lake Como delivers true naturist values and combines them with modern amenities to exceed expectations. We will definitely be back and are looking forward to our next trip!
